Maximum 30 riders. \nWhat: instruction on safety\, fixed gear riding\, track riding etiquette\, velodrome drills and training\, and lots of practice. All riders must follow structured session – no individual workouts. \nBring: helmet\, cycling shoes\, pedals\, cycling clothing (layers!)\, snacks\, lunch for between sessions\, water bottle\, allen wrenches\, sunscreen. If you have a track bike bring it\, otherwise rental bikes are available. \nAfternoon races: \nExciting women and non-binary racing at all levels of the sport! These races will double as team sprint and team pursuit practice to build Hellyer’s women/non-binary depth of talent in those disciplines. \nFields: A\, B\, Novice. All fields are WTFNB. \n*Novices must have completed 1 previous Hellyer beginner session (includes this morning’s session). May be upgraded to B or A at supervisor’s discretion. Completion of both the morning beginner session and afternoon mentored races counts as 2 beginner sessions. \nA and B riders will compete in 2 mass-start races and team pursuit or team sprint. A and B riders can come with their chosen pursuit/sprint teams or be assigned to teams. \nNovices will do a standing-start time trial and 2 mass-start races. Full instruction\, Q&A\, and debrief for each race\, with explanations of what is happening in the A/B races. \nMaximum 90 riders.

One participant per registration. \nWhen: Saturday\, June 15th\, 2024 \nGates Open at 8:30am. \nRacing starts at 10:00 am with the flying 200m time trial for sprint seeding. \nAll timed events will run first\, then mass start events. \nAge Categories: 9-10;11-12; 13-14; 15-16; 17-18 \nAll races are held under the rules of USA Cycling. \nCost: $25 \n$6 for parking. \nRelease Forms: USAC Waiver & Santa Clara County & NCVA Waiver. These MUST have an actual parent or guardian signature. You may complete them on race day or bring signed forms with you. \nPrizes: Medals will be awarded to the top 3 in each 9-10\, 11-12\, 13-14\, 15-16 Omnium. 17-18 events are individual events and the top 3 in each event will be awarded medals \nRental Bikes: May be used for this event\, but selection is limited\, first priority in order of arrival. \nGear Restrictions: Ages 9-14 may NOT use a time trial bike for the time trials (no aero bars). \nGear limits apply to ages 9-16. \nThe roll out limit: \n· 9-12 is 19’8″ \n13-14 is 21’2″ \n15-16 is 22’9″ \n17-18 no restrictions \nAdditional: \nThe age 9-10\, 11-12\, 13-14\, 15-16 events are conducted as omnium.
