The Northern California/Nevada Cycling Association (NCNCA) is USA Cycling’s Local Association for Northern California and Nevada. We support the clubs, promoters, commissaires and riders who put on and race sanctioned events across the district — road, track, cyclocross and mountain bike. NCNCA is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit run by a volunteer board of directors.
USA Cycling is the national governing body for competitive cycling in the United States, recognized by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee. To support riders, commissaires, promoters and events closer to home, USA Cycling works through regional Local Associations, and NCNCA is the one for our district. Whether you are lining up for your first race or competing for national, Pan American, world or Olympic selection, you race within the framework of USA Cycling and NCNCA.
What we do
- Keep the district race calendar, so riders and promoters can see what’s on and avoid date clashes.
- Run the district championships and the season-long BAR/BAT standings.
- Support junior and women’s racing through the Juniors and Women’s series.
- Recruit, train and assign commissaires.
- Help promoters with event permits and post-event reporting.
- Lend promoters race equipment: finish-line cameras, timing gear, traffic control and more.
- Back our member clubs and the promoters who put races on.
