NCNCA’s members are its clubs, and they are the heart and soul of bike racing in Northern California and Nevada. Clubs put on the races, field the teams, bring juniors and new riders into the sport, and supply the volunteers who staff the registration tables and finish lines all season long. Our Articles of Incorporation charge NCNCA to “encourage the sport of competitive cycling by every feasible means deemed advisable by the membership,” and it is these clubs who set that direction. Their support keeps the calendar full, the commissaires trained and the race equipment rolling. To every club below: thank you.
Why join a club?
- Teammates in races. Work together on tactics, leadouts and covering moves instead of racing alone.
- Learn faster. Experienced members teach pack skills and race craft, and many clubs run group rides, clinics or coaching.
- Junior programs. Coached practices, supervised travel to races, and a path to bigger events.
- Race-team support. Some clubs subsidize or provide kit (skinsuits, bibs, jerseys) and help with race entry fees for members of their race team.
- Sponsor discounts. Many clubs get members deals on bikes, parts, service and nutrition.
- Shared costs. Travel, lodging, tents and race-day help cost less when they’re split.
- Team standings. Some series and championships score clubs as well as individual riders.
- Community. Friends to ride with, people who expect you to show up, and chances to volunteer or lead.
Club benefits and dues vary, so ask a club what it offers its members before joining.

Clubs join NCNCA at one of three support levels. Bronze ($150) clubs get a vote at NCNCA association meetings, BAR/BAT scoring for their riders and extra publicity for their races. Silver ($250) adds recognition of the club and its sponsors on the NCNCA website and in our emails, plus invitations to the NCNCA Awards Banquet. Gold ($500 or more) adds use of NCNCA’s race equipment, such as finish-line cameras, laptops and traffic-control gear, at the club’s USA Cycling–permitted events.
