Due to forecasts of rain on Sunday the 8th, the Early Birds bicycle race training program in Livermore is cancelled for that date. The remaining four Early Birds are on as scheduled. Those having entered online for this weekend can use their entry in any of the remaining ones, or get a credit to be used in any of Velo Promo’s races this year (20+ dates on the calendar)

While racing in the rain does happen, a training program involving new riders, especially juniors, receiving off-the-bike instruction in the rain without any place to be sheltered does not appeal to us, and creates safety problems.

Please share this announcement with all riders and teams that you can. I will, as with other cancellations, be available that morning at the site to explain the situation to those who don’t get the word. An email is going out to all pre-registered riders.
