In an effort to allow racers to earn points at every race, the BAR/BAT standings have been updated and retroactive due to a new BAR/BAT rule update so those in combined fields will receive points if there is no aligned category. This rule applies to Elite fields only, not masters or juniors. If the race does not have an elite field aligning with BAR/BAT categories, the racer will receive points from the nearest combined field in which they are eligible to compete. For example, if the only women’s field is a combined P/1/2/3/4/5 each racer will get points towards their respective (1/2, 3, or 4) category based on the overall finishing position. Likewise, if there is no men’s Cat 3 field, but there is a men’s 2/3 and men’s P/1/2/3 field, the cat 3 racers will get points from their overall finish in the men’s 2/3 field, and men’s 1/2 racers will get points form the men’s P/1/2/3 field.
